Rusatom Metal Tech LLC offers technical and medical ceramics based on zirconia (ZrO2), which has high hardness, strength, and wear resistance, as well as corrosion resistance. In addition, the alloy exhibits one of the highest fracture toughness values of all ceramic materials. Zirconia ceramics have a finer texture, which allows for a mirror effect after working and polishing.

Zirconia is widely used in the manufacture of ceramic structural and wear-resistant parts, manufacture of rod pump components, pump plungers (pistons), and bearings.

Dental implants

Compared to traditional types, the yttrium oxide-stabilized zirconia ceramic alloy has high impact strength and is extremely resistant to temperature differences and mechanical damage (cracks and fractures). Zirconium dental implants integrate exceptionally well with the jawbone and are highly biocompatible and hypoallergenic. Zirconium implants can be used to restore the frontal teeth when aesthetics are of particular importance.

Zirconia Powders

Rusatom Metal Tech LLC offers several types of nano-dispersed zirconia powder. It is a white powder with monoclinic structure at low temperatures and tetragonal structure at high temperatures. The powder is soluble in sulfuric and hydrofluoric acids, has excellent thermochemical stability, heat resistance, and ductility. Zirconia powder has good mechanical, electrical, and optical properties; it is resistant to corrosion, high temperatures, acids, and alkalis. It is widely used for production of dental disks, serving for prosthetics or dental restorations.

Unstabilized Powder

Unstabilized zirconia powder is a crystalline powder of white colour, sometimes with gray or yellow tints. This powder is used for production of powder compositions, heat-resistant ceramic materials, piezoceramics, metal alloying compositions, and hip joint endoprostheses. Rusatom Metal Tech LLC offers unstabilized zirconia powder made according to the original technology, which ensures the production of powder with a given particle size: - less than 5 µm for the use in phosphors and hip joint endoprostheses - from 10 to 40 μm for the use in refractories, technical ceramics, and metal alloying compositions

Stabilized Powder

Yttrium oxide-stabilized zirconia powder has a hollow sphere shape for optimum application efficiency. Products from zirconia powder have high hardness, corrosion resistance, high thermal expansion coefficient, low thermal conductivity, as well as retain strength over a wide temperature range. This powder is used for coating by gas-flame methods, when creating thermal barrier coatings to protect parts of aircraft and rocket engines, as well as power turbines, subjected to increased high-temperature wear.
