"We have extensive experience and broad competencies in the production of blanks, semi-finished products and products made of titanium and its alloys, stainless steels, aluminum, as well as a powerful raw material base to implement projects aimed at creating materials and medical products. Modern process equipment is used to create medical devices for osteosynthesis. An analytical program will be used at the Rosatom Implant production facility, which guarantees the safety of technical process and monitoring the quality of products. The enterprise capacity will cover at least 30% of the needs of the Russian healthcare market in high-quality medical implants for traumatology and orthopedics that meet international quality standards," Andrey Andrianov noted.
Ekaterina Shikina, Deputy Director of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry Development of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Olga Isaeva, Head of the Center for Scientific Research and Advanced Development of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Russian Scientific and Research Institute for Medical Engineering", Roszdravnadzor, and Andrey Generalov, Director of the Institute of Medical Materials (FSAI "IMM"), also took part in the discussion.
Vadim Dubrov, Head of the Department of Traumatology, Orthopedics and Disaster Medicine, Faculty of Fundamental Medicine, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Chief Traumatologist-Orthopedist of the Moscow Healthcare Department, spoke from the medical community.
"It is very important to provide orthopedic traumatologists with high–quality domestic surgical installation tools in a timely manner, until difficulties arise with its supply. Moreover, we must provide medical and preventive treatment facilities not only with tool kits, but also organize service for its prompt repair and replacement. Such a high-tech corporation as Rosatom cannot certainly stand aside if it is necessary to replace products from manufacturers that have limited supplies to the territory of the Russian Federation and timely cover the needs of Russian healthcare facilities with high-quality medical devices," Vadim Dubrov stressed.
