Rusatom Metal Tech LLC, a divisional integrator of the TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom in the
Metallurgy direction, took part in the 29th International Industrial Exhibition Metal-Expo in
Moscow. The company presented the best samples of metallurgical products made from
refractory and light metals, alloys based on them, including in the form of rolled products with
high accuracy of geometric parameters and surface quality.
This year, at the joint stand of Rosatom State Corporation, visitors were able to get acquainted
with a wide range of metallurgical products of the Fuel Division – these are heavy-duty high-
conductivity wires made of copper-niobium alloy, products made of titanium, refractory and rare
metals, chemically purified refractory compounds based on hafnium and zirconium, titanium
implants for extra-cortical and intraosseous osteosynthesis and permanent rare earth magnets of
the neodymium-iron-boron system. For the first time, superconducting wires based on niobium-
titanium and niobium-tin were presented at the forum, which are used in basic science projects,
in the creation of modern medical equipment (for example, MR-imaging units), in the transport
and industrial sectors, as well as in high- and ultrahigh-resolution analytical equipment, such as
nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometers.
Special attention was paid to calcium products presented at the stand, which are the standard of
quality not only in Russia but also abroad. Specifically for a better understanding of the visitors,
an architectural object was created that clearly demonstrates the purpose and application of
chemically pure calcium metal and calcium injection wire in ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy
"Now there is steady growth in the metallurgical industry, companies are actively introducing
new technologies and developments, new logistics chains are being built, import substitution of
products is taking place, which means there is an urgent need for professional communication.
Within the framework of the forum, more than 100 official and business meetings with potential
customers and partners were held at the Rusatom Metal Tech stand. In the calcium sector,
following meetings with the largest metallurgical enterprises in Russia, positive results of
cooperation, as well as the expediency of continuing work on improving steel processing
technology using new designs of calcium injection wire were noted. It was also the beginning of
a long-term cooperation with a major partner, for which new ranges of titanium products are
planned to be put into production"; said Andrey Andrianov, General Director of Rusatom Metal
Tech LLC.
The Metal-Expo exhibition is an annual industrial exhibition and congress forum attended by
over 550 leading metallurgical enterprises and holdings, manufacturers and suppliers of
equipment and engineering solutions.
