Rosatom presented its new metallurgical products at a symposium in China

Representatives of Rusatom Metal Tech LLC, a divisional integrator of the TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom in the Metallurgy direction, took part in the XVI International Chinese- Russian Symposium “New Materials and Technologies” held in Haikou on the Chinese island of Hainan. The company presented a wide range of metallurgical products, as well as reports within the framework of the business program of the Symposium. The Symposium was attended by about 300 specialists and scientists who presented more than 100 reports on topical issues of materials science. Representatives of Rusatom Metal Tech LLC made presentations and exchanged experiences on cable and wire products and rare-earth magnets.

Viktor Pantsyrny, Director of Development of the "Wire Products" direction of Rusatom Metal Tech LLC, Doctor of Technical Sciences, spoke about the results of work on the manufacture and application of low-temperature superconducting materials, conductors and wires made of copper-niobium alloy with improved characteristics that have high strength and electrical conductivity. In turn, Alexander Domov, the Project Manager of Rusatom Metal Tech LLC, spoke about plans to build the first permanent magnet factory in Russia for wind generators and electric vehicles.

"China and Russia have great potential and wide opportunities for cooperation in the field of new materials. Rusatom Metal Tech is actively working in the field of new materials with China, in particular, in the field of superconductors, cable and wire products and permanent rare-earth magnets. We have already achieved significant results, and in the future there will be even broader prospects for joint work in various industries,"; commented Andrey Andrianov, General Director of Rusatom Metal Tech LLC.

Samples of Rusatom Metal Tech LLC products were clearly demonstrated at the stand of the symposium. Heavy-duty high-conductivity wires made of copper-niobium alloy were of particular interest to the event visitors: contact wires made of copper-niobium alloy for high- speed railways, radiation-resistant and heat-resistant wires, especially thin wires coated with silver, tin, nickel or uncoated, heavy-duty wires for creating magnetic systems of medical imaging units, electric motors and generators.

The "New Materials and Technologies" Symposium has been held every two years in turn in Russia and China since 1991. The purpose of the symposium is to strengthen bilateral scientific and scientific-technical ties between scientists of the two countries in the field of creation and development of new materials and technologies, increase the level of information exchange between Russian and Chinese scientists, popularize achievements in various fields of materials science and interdisciplinary research. The Russian industry has a goal to ensure technological sovereignty and transition to the latest technologies as soon as possible. The state and large domestic companies direct resources to accelerate the development of the domestic research, infrastructure, scientific and technological base. The introduction of innovations and new high- tech equipment allows Rosatom and its enterprises to occupy new niches in the market, increasing the competitiveness of the nuclear industry and the entire Russian industry as a whole. Rusatom Metallurgical Technologies LLC is a divisional integrator of the TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom in the Metallurgy direction. The tasks of developing the metallurgical business of the Fuel Company include, in particular, expanding the customer base in Russia and abroad, developing production facilities, and creating new alliances and partnerships.

Enterprises specializing in the manufacture of products made of refractory and light metals, as well as alloys based on them, are the technological partners of Rusatom Metallurgical Technologies LLC. The integrator consolidates the competencies of TVEL JSC enterprises in the field of metallurgy: ChMZ JSC, MSZ JSC, NCCP PJSC, Elemash Magnit LLC, NPO Centrotech LLC, and VNIINM JSC. The scientific potential, technological competencies, and qualified personnel of enterprises make it possible to carry out work on the launch of mass production of new materials and promising product ranges, as well as promptly respond to the needs of leading industries and high-tech companies. Rosatoms TVEL Fuel Company (the Fuel Division of the Rosatom State Corporation) includes enterprises for the manufacture of nuclear fuel, conversion and enrichment of uranium, production of gas centrifuges, as well as research and development organizations. As the sole supplier of nuclear fuel to Russian nuclear power plants, TVEL provides fuel to a total of 75 power reactors in 15 countries, research reactors in nine countries around the world, as well as transport reactors of the Russian nuclear fleet. Every sixth power reactor in the world is powered by TVEL fuel. Rosatoms Fuel Division is the worlds largest manufacturer of enriched uranium, as well as the leader of the global stable isotope market. The Fuel Division is actively developing new businesses in the fields of chemistry, metallurgy, energy storage technologies, 3D printing, digital products, as well as decommissioning of nuclear facilities. Rosatoms industry integrators for additive technologies and energy storage systems have been created in the TVEL Fuel Company. http://www.tvel.ru
