Rosatoms TVEL Fuel Company took an active part in the International Industrial Exhibition
INNOPROM-2023, which was held in Yekaterinburg for several days.
The Fuel Company enterprises presented numerous solutions in the field of digitalization, energy
storage, high-conversion metallurgy for high-tech industries. Top managers of the fuel division
took part in thematic discussions and round tables.
IT solutions
During a visit to the exhibition by Russian Chairman of the Government Mikhail Mishustin, the
Prime Minister was presented with the predictive analytics system AtomMind created at the
TVEL Fuel Company. The system is designed to predict the quality of products and the
condition of equipment at industrial enterprises.
AtomMind is a low-code platform for digitalization of industrial enterprises, which allows
solving a wide range of tasks. At the moment, the system has been successfully implemented in
rolling production at the Chepetsk Mechanical Plant (ChMZ JSC, an enterprise of the Rosatoms
TVEL Fuel Company). Based on the work of predictive models at each stage of the
technological process, the system warns technologists about the quality of materials at the
entrance and recommends more optimal production parameters in order to reduce the level of
inconsistency. The system also allows specialists to analyze statistical data. Technologists can
analyze how the parameters of initial ingot and the parameters of rolled product affect the yield
of the suitable one.
Metallurgy and additive technologies
Rusatom Metal Tech LLC, a divisional integrator of the TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom in the
Metallurgy direction, presented products made of titanium and titanium alloys, nickel electrolytic
and titanium powders, as well as powders based on zirconium dioxide, permanent rare-earth
magnets of the neodymium-iron-boron system, cable and wire products such as heavy-duty high-
conductivity wires of copper-niobium alloy. The products of Rusatom Metal Tech LLC are in
demand in all key industries of the country, from high-speed railway transport to wind
generators.
Innoprom participants and guests also got acquainted with the capabilities of the Rosatom
Metallurgy Center – Chepetsky Mechanical Plant, where unique production facilities are
concentrated. A virtual technical tour with a visit to the main workshops of the enterprise was
organized at the Rosatom stand. Everyone could get acquainted with the process of smelting and
forging zirconium ingots, the production of shell-type pipes for nuclear power plant fuel, and see
the variety of mastered titanium products - from shipbuilding to medicine. During the days of the
exhibition, several hundred guests got acquainted with the one-of-a-kind ChMZ production.
As part of the business program, a panel discussion "Drivers of introduction of additive
technologies in Russian industry" was also held. In his report, Ilya Kavelashvili, General
Director of Rusatom – Additive Technologies (RuSat LLC, an industry integrator within the
TVEL Fuel Company), spoke about the demand for additive manufacturing from customers, growing demand and barriers faced by the market on the way to the introduction of additive technologies. Special attention was paid to the implementation of technology in the nuclear industry.
Energy storage
RENERA LLC (an industry integrator for energy storage systems, part of the TVEL Fuel
Company) presented the components of Russian batteries for electric vehicles - a lithium-ion cell
and a battery module in the section. During the inspection of the pavilion of the Russian-Chinese
EXPO by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin,
Andrey Reznikov, Managing Partner of Motorinvest, shared plans for the development of
traction batteries for the Evolute line-up of cars together with the RENERA company.
